THE INTRODUCTION  ON TUNKU ABDUL RAHMAN

Tunku Abdul Rahman was a prominent figure in Malaysian history and is widely viewed as the "Father of Malaysian Independence". He was the first Prime Minister of the Federation of Malaya, which later became Malaysia, and his role in the country's independence movement is widely remembered and celebrated. He was a leader of the Malayan Chinese, Malay, and Indian communities and had an important role in the transformation of Malaysia into a peaceful and prosperous nation. In this essay, we will look at the life and achievements of Tunku Abdul Rahman, how he shaped Malaysian politics and how his legacy still continues to be important today.

Tunku Abdul Rahman is credited with leading the country of Malaysia to independence and is seen as a symbol of the nation’s victory and progress. MA Daud, MS Hassan, and AA Azmi examine this figure in their 2021 article in the Jurnal Ulwan, discussing his role in the establishment of Malaysia. The authors emphasize Tunku Abdul Rahman’s influential role in Malaysian politics, noting that he led the movement to gain independence from Britain and the formation of the Federation of Malaya. The authors further suggest that Tunku Abdul Rahman faced various obstacles in his quest to create Malaysia, including the need to gain support from the various ethnicities and races in the country. He was also responsible for negotiating the terms of the country’s independence with Britain, which included a guarantee of citizenship rights for all Malaysians regardless of race or religion. Tunku Abdul Rahman’s efforts were successful in leading Malaysia to independence, and his commitment to inclusivity and fairness continues to be celebrated today. Daud et al. highlight the importance of Tunku Abdul Rahman’s leadership in the history of Malaysia, noting that his courage and dedication to establishing a unified nation made him an enduring symbol of the country.
